Final reflection

Final reflection      This course has been an incredibly insightful journey that has shaped my understanding of both teaching and learning, as well as the role technology plays in modern education. Initially, I had a general understanding of how to design assessments and evaluate students, but I had not fully appreciated how technology could transform these processes. Throughout the course, I've learned how to incorporate various digital tools into my teaching strategies, which has allowed me to create more dynamic, interactive, and effective lessons.       When we began, I knew the basics of organizing assessments, but I had not explored all the possibilities technology offers in this area. Over time, I realized that it’s not just about measuring student performance through traditional exams or assignments. Instead, it’s about creating multiple opportunities for students to demonstrate their learning through diverse and engaging methods. I’ve l...

Quizzizz      The "Environmental Awareness" quiz I created for my academy aims not only to assess students' knowledge about environmental issues but also to encourage deep reflection on the importance of protecting our planet. The choice of various question types, such as multiple-choice, fill-in-the-blank, and open-ended questions, allows us to approach the topic from different perspectives, helping students think critically and creatively. Additionally, the images included not only enrich the visual experience but also reinforce key concepts, making it easier for students to connect directly and tangibly with the content.      What I like most about this quiz is that it goes beyond just testing knowledge. The multiple-choice questions with correct and incorrect answers invite students to reflect on their choices and become more aware of the alternatives they have to contribute to environmental protection. For example, when asking about reducing plastic wa...

Excell

Excell      I have designed this evaluation to cover all the key language skills (reading, writing, speaking, and listening) in a balanced and fair manner. By assigning specific percentages to each category and subcategory, I aim to give students opportunities to demonstrate their skills in various areas. The largest portion of the continuous assessment (60% of the final grade) focuses on reading, as I believe it is one of the most important skills in language learning. However, I have also given significant weight to the other skills so that students are assessed across all areas.      I find it positive that the evaluation does not rely on a single exam, but rather spreads the opportunities throughout the course, reducing pressure on the students and giving them space to improve continuously. This proportional distribution of percentages ensures that students have multiple chances to demonstrate their ability in each area. Additionally, the final e...

Quizlet

Quizlet      Using Quizlet to create the animals vocabulary unit for second-grade students provides a dynamic, interactive learning experience that enhances both engagement and retention. The digital flashcards allow students to visualize the vocabulary, linking images with words to strengthen their memory. Quizlet’s repetition system helps reinforce learning, while the option for students to review the cards at their own pace supports individualized learning.      This approach encourages independent learning, as students can revisit material whenever they need, fostering autonomy and self-regulation. Additionally, the gamified nature of Quizlet, with its fun and motivating features, allows for a more enjoyable learning process, helping students stay engaged and interested.      From a pedagogical perspective, Quizlet aligns with the concept of active learning, where students are not passive recipients but active participants in their...

Digital story

Digital story      The Storyjumper tool has been a revelation in my pedagogical process, as it allows for the creation of personalized and visually appealing stories that enrich children's learning experiences. By using Storyjumper to write or illustrate stories like Nico and the Mystery of the Shining Stars, children are not only motivated by the narrative, but they also develop crucial cognitive and emotional skills.      This tool enhances creativity by allowing children to choose characters, settings, and details for their stories, stimulating their imagination. Through an interactive process, children can build their own version of the story, which creates a stronger connection with the content. This also allows them to reflect on their own emotions and experiences by creating characters they can identify with, such as Nico, who demonstrates empathy, curiosity, and problem-solving skills.      Additionally, Storyjumper provides a ...

Genially

Area 5: Empowering learners       Reflecting on student empowerment, I’ve come to realize how crucial it is to use technology in an inclusive and accessible way. In an increasingly diverse classroom, accessibility becomes the foundation for ensuring that all students, regardless of their physical, sensory, or cognitive needs, have an equal chance to succeed. Technology, when used thoughtfully, removes barriers and provides opportunities for everyone to participate and progress in their learning journey. Tools like Genially play a pivotal role here by offering dynamic and engaging visual and multimedia resources that cater to different learning styles.      Genially allows me to design lessons that are not only visually stimulating but also interactive. This feature helps me engage students actively, making them the central figures in their learning process. Through interactive tasks, students are encouraged to explore, make choices, and reflect ...

Initial vs final PLE (Changes)

Imagen
INITIAL VS FINAL PLE      In my initial PLE, I have my learning environment organized into five different groups, each with a specific color to make it easier to access each section. In the green group, I have social applications that I use for entertainment and communication, such as Instagram, WhatsApp, Twitter, and TikTok. I use these social networks to stay in touch with my friends and stay updated on different topics of interest.      The red group is dedicated to UPNA resources, which I use to access the university's main page and my personal space, where I can check the subjects I’m enrolled in and view the academic content I need.      In the purple group, I have several educational tools, including Canva, Pinterest, Live Worksheets, Genially, Quizlet, the Government of Navarra website (where I consult documents like the primary curriculum), Google Classroom, Kahoot, and GeoGebra. This group helps me access resources and tools that fa...
